Each episode portrays the experiences of couples and families toiling hard for their belief in organic goodness and the love and life it provides. 07.10.07 :: Marree Man at MIPCOM 2007
Marree Man was nominated for the 2007 MIPCOM Mobile and Internet media Awards, in the Best Short Form Entertainment, Factual category. The category attracted 180 entries from 38 countries around the world. Marree Man was one of just three finalists.
Marree Man is Australia’s first documentary made specifically for mobiles (a Mobidoc). The two-minute film investigates the mystery of a giant drawing of a naked Aborginal man carved into the earth -- seven kms from tip to toe -- discovered 10 years ago in the midst of outback South Australia. The drawing, which can only be seen in its entirety from 4000 feet in the air, is known as the Marree Man. “Marree Man is an enduring mystery, and a great Australian yarn,” says writer director, David Batty.

By following characters as they go about their day-to-day lives, the series challenges some popular misconceptions about Muslim Australians. In contrast to the fear often generated about Islam in news and current affairs programs, Halal Mate takes us on an excursion into the real lives of ordinary Australian Muslims. Afifa – an aspiring soccer player, The Brothahood – a Lebanese rap group, Houssam – a Halal butcher, and Margie – a Collingwood supporter and ex-Irish Catholic.

Veiled Ambition, directed by Celeste Geer for Rebel Films, is an inspiring documentary about Frida, a young Muslim woman from Melbourne and her dream to create an Islamic fashion empire.
We are proud to announce that Veiled Ambition has just been chosen as Winner of the Palace Films Award for a short film promoting Human Rights at the 2006 Melbourne International Film Festival.
Veiled Ambition was the second highest-rated documentary ever for its time-slot on SBS. Its broadcast was followed by SBS's most popular post-screening webchat with the film's star Frida Dakiz.
